How do you know when to give your brain a break? You feel disconnected, you can’t focus and you’re easily set off by different things around you. Burnout is real and sometimes we ignore it because we see that there is so much work to do. In the end, it’s important to take a mental health day, dedicated to your psychological and emotional health away from work or business.

Taking a mental health day can improve energy, motivation, mood, and one’s ability to manage stress and time off might actually increase overall productivity rather than decrease it. long hours are considered typical in the workplace, but did you know that high-pressure environments can trigger mental health conditions like anxiety or exhaustion.

This isn’t only in hired positions by companies, it can also happen to business owners foreseeing every task in their teams, relying on the good work of teammates. Try not to micro-manage and trust that if you are the boss, they were hired to fill a position and have their responsibilities.

As an entrepreneur, we also tend to overwork and in the beginning concentrate our lives on the success of a project. Remember that even though you breathe and believe in what you are creating, it isn’t healthy to not take time off. As we also set boundaries for clients, we have to also set them for ourselves.

There are so many ways we can Log off & log out, digital detox is necessary when it is strictly connected to work, especially nowadays in this technological age. We tend to turn around and check our phones, maybe even out of boredom.

Try other activities, maybe you can find new hobbies, even outdoor time is recommended. And while you’re at it drink a glass of wine, turn on the music, laugh, and read a book. We keep worrying about not being successful enough, or expectations, when the important thing is to live and actually enjoy life.
